Let it snow!!!

Remember the last time we got some flurries? Well my son had JUST prayed for snow a few days before that. It was cute, he was like “God, can we have snow please?” and then it flurried. He was upset it was only a little bit so I then had to explain to him, he has to be specific!!! So he then prayed “God, please send me a lot of snow!!”

So a few months have gone by and we kinda forgot about it. Until Tuesday morning. Keylan woke up and was thrilled to see LOTS of snow on the ground. I was surprised myself since we live in NC. But the bible does say “All things are possible with God” :-)   It gives me great joy to see my child praying and believing that God will answer his prayers. And the best part is seeing those prayers answered… Then to top it off, we got a snow day out of it. A day to spend time together and just relax. We all need those days now and then.  I hope everyone enjoyed the snow as much as we did!!! :)

A New Year, A New Me

I know how cliche it is to make New Years Resolutions so I decided to not make any. I made goals. I really should have these things all year round but what better time to start than the beginning of a new year. These goals are to better myself and the people around me.

My first goal is to work out, I know everyone has this goal but I have actually started the process and for me that is BIG. Once I start, I can usually stick to it for a good amount of time. This also included eating healthier. I really want to start treating the only body the Lord blessed with me better this year.

My next big goal is to be a better listener. I tend to talk …. alot. I want to stop my mouth and just listen. I know I have heard it a bunch of times before how we have 1 mouth and 2 ears for a reason. I want others to know I really do care about them and what they are saying to me. What better way to show them than to really engage in what is being said. As opposed to thinking of a response while they are still talking.

Well there are more but I need to stop writing now. I may finish this up at a later date.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful and blessed New Year so far!

A Time of Rest

I seriously need a time of rest. I know the rest of you are feeling me on this subject. During this season, it seems there are not enough hours of the day. You can’t get things done fast enough. The traffic is crazy. Everything  just seems to be going at a faster pace than normal.

Things I have to accomplish in the next 2 weeks….

1. finishing up my baking

2. putting this gingerbread house together (why didn’t someone warn me!!!)

3. getting all the gifts together and wrapped

4. getting sitters together for Keylan because daycare is closed and mommy has to work!!! aggghhhhhh

5. Driving to Rockingham to visit my boyfriend’s (i feel so high school using that term) family the weekend after Christmas.

6. Going to ALT for New Years to see my bestest girlfriend!

7. Did I mention my b-day is the 28th??? What will I do???

8. Attend Christmas Eve service at the best church ever! LWFC!

And I really think there is more but I will keep it at that. Not to mention my list is out of order. oh well….

If I do not post again before Christmas. I wish you all a Merry and Blessed Christmas!!!!!! I love each and every one of my blog stalkers!

I will leave you with a sweet picture of my Keylan. :) Enjoy!s5001386

Can you say SLACKER?

I know I know, another blog with NO pictures. I tried to take some this past weekend and my batteries died. I still haven’t gotten a chance to get some more.

Can I be transparent (where have you heard that before? lol)? Things have been kinda tough for us. I am being tested in so many areas and I am really trying to stay focused. But I can say through the hard times, I am truly blessed!

Which brings me to my Thanksgiving. We got an opportunity to ride up to PA with family. It was really great because it was FREE! We spent some time with the family and pretty much just relaxed and took it easy. My dad took Keylan to the mountains to see some real and an abundance of snow. (that boy has been praying for some for weeks now) So that was exciting for him. He also got to spend some time with his cousins. ( I do have pictures and I will post… again read the header) And me, I got time to unwind and just relax.

Something else exciting did happen tho. There was a stray dog at my sister’s house just hanging out. Well my sister and nephew befriended him and he hung around for a few days. Saturday night we saw him lying on her porch on a blanket shivering. So we were trying to figure out, what could we do with it ? or for it? So of course we thought of our stepmother. Bless this woman’s heart, she LOVES some animals. She works at the SPCA part time so we knew she would know what to do. Well to make a long story short, we brought the dog to the house expecting her to bring it to the SPCA in the morning when she went to work. For some background we used to have 3 dogs there but they are no longer with us and she had been wanting another dog for a while now…. Well the entire family fell in love with the dog and she did not put him in the SPCA but gave him a home. It’s so crazy but as Im sitting here thinking of the abuse this dog obviously went through and how he was led to my sister, and then was taken to a place where he will be treated like a King, I think of my life before being a Christian. God truly has a plan for each and every one of us.. including this dog. We were battered and bruised and just living free, maybe even homeless and he brought people in our lives that either took us to church or touched our lives in a way that helped us to realize exactly where we needed to be. In the arms of our heavenly father, to be treated like the heirs we were born to be. Wow!!!!!

Say whaT?

I was just reading a blog and the blogger was writing about people NOT blogging on their site. I don’t know who this sweet woman was referring to but I kinda got the feeling I should post something since it’s been a while for me.. :-) So I have been really enjoying stalking all of your blogs. I too get a little disappointed when I do not see anything written on my favorite pages! I can’t help it, I love to know what is going on in your lives!

Well It’s been a busy week for us.  I work from home on Mondays. But this particular week, I return from dropping off Key, log on and realize I have a meeting IN THE OFFICE at 9am. Not just an hour meeting but an all day event.  Soooo I had to get dressed and drive in to work. YUCK!!! And that is how the week started! Then I got home and made my yummy pumpkin pie for Tuesday nights Leadership Update. WHEW!!

Tuesday at work we had an ALL day meeting. This was for everyone that works in my department. We found out the updates on the financials for the year and learned more about being good employees. :-) Then I rushed home, got my pie and we were off to church. The update was awesome!!! by the way.

Wednesday I finally got some work done! Actually I got off early to deliver some Avon to a friend of mine who works at the N&O, where I used to work. I really got to minister to him about some things and I was sooo happy God could use me through my Avon business. I’m sure he does that more often than not but that was one of those quite obvious moments! I then got Key, came home, ate and rushed off to church! I am really loving Judy’s class. The Book Having a Mary Spirit by Joanna Weaver is GREAT!

So then Thursday, work, home etc etc.. Im sure you are bored with this by now but this weekend we are going to church for the Children’s ministry movie night and then Saturday we are going to hit up the Raleigh Christmas Parade! That is sure to be a blast!! I will have some more to talk about and more pictures to post!

Yay!!!!

Today is the day.

So I got Keylan up at 6am so we could get to the polls at 6:30. I was hoping that it would not take that long and I could still get to work by 8. And unbelieveably, it happened! Me and Key were out of there by 7am. So I could still drive him to daycare and get to Cary by 8. I am so proud of myself. I am 30 years old and sadly this was my first year I voted. I grew up with divorced parents and my mom was Jehovah’s Witness and for years I was afraid to vote because it was against my religion? Whatever, then after that, I just had no desire to vote.

So here we are in 2008 and I understand now how very important it is for me to vote, as a woman, an American, and as a Christian. So wooohhhoooo. Mission accomplished.

Thanks Jennifer. I was reading your blog and of course I wanted to know what my name meant.  So Crystal means earth mineral or brilliant glass. (I’ll take the glass one) lol and my middle name Noelle means born on Christmas Day but I was really born 3 days after! So I am a brilliant glass born on Christmas Day. How cool! :-)

So today is Keylan’s Birthday. I am still in awe of how fast the time has gone. And it just seems like he has gotten more mature over just the last few days. How does that happen???? I feel so blessed today. My child is healthy and strong and growing to be a great man of God. I just reminicse about how much having Keylan has really changed my life. I was so much in the world and now I have so much more than I could have ever imagined. It is truly amazing how God takes our mess and really does turn it into something great…..

Happy Birthday Keylan!!!
